Nikki Hayes  – VETERINARIAN

Born and raised in the North East, Nikki moved to Melbourne for her studies and graduated in 2015. After working in Melbourne and a stint in London she returned to the area and began working at Rutherglen Vet Clinic in September 2023.

Nikki is a dedicated small animal veterinarian who loves connecting with pets and their owners every day. She has a passion for consulting, particularly when tackling complex medical cases and guiding owners on preventive care. Nikki also values the opportunity to perform surgeries as she finds it rewarding to directly improve the health and wellbeing of our furry family members.

Outside of work Nikki loves spending time with her young family including her beautiful cavoodle Frankie (who she will bring up at any opportunity).

KAYLA JENVEY – VETERINARY NURSE

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Kayla has been part of the clinic since 2013. Growing up in Corowa, she always had a passion for animals. She has completed multiple qualifications, including Certificate II in Animal Studies, Certificate III in Companion Animals, and Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with Microchip Certification. She was also named GoTafe Vet Nurse Student of the Year.

Kayla finds hospital cases most rewarding, as she loves nursing animals back to health and reuniting them with their families. At home, she cares for her two dogs, Ziggy and Zippa, and her two cats, Panda and Ally. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, family time, and fostering kittens for the clinic’s adoption programme.

CINDY GARRO – VETERINARY NURSE

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Cindy joined Rutherglen Veterinary Clinic in 2018. Growing up in Albury, she bred zebra finches from the age of 12 and always had pets around her. After working at a boarding kennel and volunteering at the Bendigo RSPCA Animal Shelter, Cindy realised her true passion was veterinary nursing. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2016 and has worked in both casual and full-time nursing roles before joining our team.

She now lives near Barnawartha with her family, horses, and dogs and loves working with the caring team at Rutherglen.

She is also currently completing a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. Megan is passionate about caring for animals, always bringing patience and kindness to all the animals she meets. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two cats, Penny and Jasper. She’s excited to continue growing her skills and knowledge to provide the best care for the pets of the Rutherglen community.

ALLIE PARKER – RECEPTIONIST & HOSPITAL ASSISTANT

Allie has recently joined our team at Rutherglen Veterinary Clinic and is currently studying for her Certificate II in Animal Studies.

Allie’s favourite things to do at the clinic are to greet our clients coming through the door with their fur babies and comfort our nervous patients with cuddles. This makes her perfect for her role as receptionist and Hospital Assistant. Allie has always had a love for all animals and aspires to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing as her next step in her career. Allie has two young boys who keep her very busy.

She loves being outdoors with them fishing, camping and yabbying. If Allie is not outdoors, she is curled up on the couch with her dogs and cats reading a good book.
